TORONTO, Ont. - The Canadian dollar was up more than half a cent before the Wednesday open at the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The loonie traded at 80.52 cents US, up 0.55 of a U.S. cent from Tuesday's close.
The Dow Jones industrial futures were up 10 points at 17,795, the Nasdaq futures rose 2.80 points to 4,336.80, and the S&P 500 futures advanced one point to 2,068.80 ahead of the regular trading session.
On the commodity markets, the May crude contract was down $1.19 at US$52.79 a barrel and the June gold contract fell 70 cents to US$1,209.90 an ounce ahead of the TSX open.
The S&P/TSX composite index closed Tuesday 15,188.84, after rising points 88.19 points.
